Club Announcements:

The District Celebration is just around the corner and DG Roger Hassler has suggested that clubs go dark the first week of May and use our meal money to attend the Celebration. We will continue to meet as usual.  Sandi has created a sign-up sheet and would like to encourage members to attend any or all of the events scheduled for the weekend, particularly the Saturday night dinner. You can sign up online. There are 12 acts lined up for the talent show and it promises to be an entertaining evening. There is also still room for the district golf and tennis tournaments. Please check out the brochure and sign up so that we can get our club registered.

Reminder to our current website sponsors, it is time to renew. Forty dollars for the year will keep your company logo and a link to your website on our club website. This money helps defray the cost of hosting our club website. If your business is not currently a website sponsor all you need to do is send me your company logo and web address and we can get you started.

Jim Cunningham – Friday night is the Rotating Dinner. More than 30 people will be participating.

Kim Castro – Stevens Creek Trail Clean Up, Saturday April 16th – Not too late to sign up!

Club Golf Tournament Friday June 10th with a BBQ to follow at 4:30pm. Tournament is $65 and dinner is $25. Golfers needed—only a few have signed up so far. Duffers welcome!

Reminder - Board meeting tomorrow at 5pm at the YMCA.

Next month’s board meeting will be a joint meeting with the current board and the new incoming board so mark your calendars for Wednesday May 11, 2012.

Chamber of Commerce mixer is also tomorrow at 5pm at Interiors & Textiles 1400 North Shoreline, Suite B-1

If you are not on the board please consider going and representing Rotary!

Joke of the Day – If you purchased $1000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $42 left.

With Lehman, you would have $6.60 left; with Fannie or Freddie you would have less than $5.00

But if you purchased $1000 worth of beer, drank it and recycled the cans you would have $214.00.

The best current investment advice is to drink beer and recycle!
