President Judy opened the meeting with a welcome and a reading of our call to action for this year.

Phil Armi announced that in honor of Walt Joyce’s birthday, we should sing Happy Birthday for him.
 
Bruce Barsi, President-Elect introduced visitors.  Judy introduced her friend Susan Silver.  Our speakers husband, Ken Blackford, was introduced by Bruce.
 
Finemaster:  Bruce took us into the all-new version of MV Rotary Jeopardy.
Twana told us of her 18th anniversary.  She presented us with a bottle of Rotari wine.  She missed her question.
Judy missed her question.
Steve Nichols joined the President’s Club.
Sheila missed her question.
Walt was successful with his answer to the question, “Who met their future spouse at the Police Academy?”
 
 
Club Announcements:
 
There will be a Rotary Board meeting on Thursday of this week at Jim Spanglers office at 5 PM.
 
Gerry was just back from the Rotary Foundation meeting and passed out pledge forms and letters giving us our present giving status.  Our budget is $5000 this year.  The District Governor will be at our club on November 6 this year.
 
Judy reminded us to call or email when we are NOT going to attend a meeting.
 
Save the date:Thursday, October 25 for the Avenues of Service program. For Board members and other interested members.  The club pays for this event.
 
New members of the President’s Club were given certificates: Chuck, Hiro, Alan.
 
Our next quarterly social meeting will be the last Tuesday of August (the 28th) at Scott’s, formerly the Cantankerous Fish, on Castro.  Each member is encouraged to bring a prospect to this meeting.
 
Monica thanked the club for providing many volunteers to staff the CHAC parking team at the MV Art and Wine celebration in September.  We will have another opportunity this year on Sep 8 & 9.  Sign up on the clipboard.
