Speaker

Assistant Governor Katie Cooney introduced our District Governor Gregg Giusiana to the Club.

Gregg has been a member of the Gilroy Rotary Club for more than twenty years.  His theme for this year is “Make Membership Meaningful.”

Gregg was excited to announce that Jennifer E. Jones has been selected as the first woman President of Rotary International for the 2022-2023 year.  He also told us that it was recently announced that the continent of Africa is now polio free.  The only two countries in the world with new cases of polio are Afghanistan and Pakistan and progress continues to be made.

Gregg shared Rotary International’s new Vision:  Together we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves.

With the COVID challenge this year, we need to be flexible and adaptable to change which may include:
-Virtual meetings
-Virtual fellowship and social events
-Creativity to conquer challenges

To make membership meaningful for new members, get them engaged in Club activities and provide them with a mentor.

Gregg thanked the Club for their continuing support of The Rotary Foundation and encouraged us to keep up our great effort as it is needed now more than ever.

It is important to get the word out about all the good work we do and the District now has a Public Relations Team available to help.
