Meeting Minutes – May 2, 2017

President Jerylann opened the meeting with a warm greeting at 12:30 PM.
 
Heather led us in a pledge of allegiance
 
Jim Cochran gave the thought for the day: “So what will matter?”
 
Phil led us in My Country Tis of Thee
 
Scott, President-Elect, was prepared to introduce visitors but none were present. Scott did tell us that Rotarian Dave Cole was in the hospital for some circulation correction procedures.
 
Club Announcements:
  • Next week, May 9, we will auction off the Club Tahoe Timeshare week (either 8/20 -8/27 or 11/25-12/2. It is a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 math unit with a loft that sleeps 6-8 comfortably. Rotarians should be prepared to bid to the benefit of our Endowment fund.
  • Our club project working with Living Classroom will meet at Theuerkauf School on May 13, Saturday, at 9 AM. We will be helping prepare planter boxes for the students.
  • There will be a Rotating Dinner this year on May 19. There has been a good sign up of members.
  • District Announcements Several Rotarians will be going to Santa Cruz this weekend for the Annual District Conference.
Speaker: Dr. Ken Schwaderer, as the chair of our Scholarship Committee, introduced Rotary and our club to our guests, scholarship recipients. Members of the scholarship committee were: Judy Hannemann, Bruce Barsi, Jim Spangler, Walt Joyce, and Alan Goodman.
 
The following were given Rotary scholarships: Bruce Barsi introduced Kameswari Potharaju from Saint Francis High School.
 
Alan Goodman introduced Viktoriya Semenina from Mountain View High School.
 
Alan Goodman introduced Haley Ecker from Los Altos High School

At our meeting on May 09 Anita Grossman will be introducing those from the community that will be awarded Community Grants.
The 4fer for the May 09 meeting will be Phil Armi.
