President reported that we presently have 29 members of the presidents club.
 
Our auctions have added over $2,250.00 thus far.
 
Scott provided us an update on his Atlanta Rotary International Trip.  The theme of the event:  celebrating 100 years of the Rotary Foundation.  Bill and Melinda Gates were present to pledge another 1.2 billion matching to fight polio.  His goal to validate this is 2020.   It was a great learning experience for Scott.   
 
 
District Announcements:
Jerylann – Polio Flash Campaign.  We ask that every member contribute $26.50 to the End Polio Now campaign.   Why $26.50?  That was the amount of the very first contribution to the Rotary Foundation in 1917. 
Speaker for today – Vickie Grove, Executive Director & Marcos Senz, Community Relations Director of Community School of Music & Art (CSMA) (http://arts4all.org), here in Mountain View.  They are celebrating 50 years of service.  Vickie thanked the Rotary for their service for this concert season.  The school provides music and art to everybody from full paid vs non-paid.  The school provides art and music to over 50 schools.  In addition, they provide lessons to businesses such as Google and Intel.  Vickie and Marcos played a concert piece from one of these concerts.  All concerts can be viewed via you tube.  If other businesses, nonprofits, need meeting space, the facility can be rented out. 
Club Announcements:
  • Next Board Meeting is Thursday 6/22, 5 pm at CHAC (It will be a joint board meeting with Scott’s Johnson’s Board. 
  • Kick out at Michaels on June 23 at 6 pm.
  • Dave Cole provided updates on the community services projects.
  • New Board for 2017-2018 was approved last week. 
  • We are dark next Tuesday and the first week of July to celebrate July 4th.  The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 11
