Dawn Mahler, MV Chamber of Commerce – Dawn joined the chamber in February 2017 after coming from the east coast and also working for the chamber in Palo Alto. Dawn has a very diverse and highly qualified background in private industry prior to joining the chamber. The Mountain View Chamber currently has a staff of 6 with Bruce Humphrey taking over the roll as director of the chamber after Tony Siress recently stepped down to pursue personal interests. Since Dawn has joined the chamber she has been more than doubled the current membership of the chamber to 750 active members. Obviously, she has a special skill set that the chamber welcomes and needs. Dawn shared other aspects of the chamber including upcoming events that include:
  1. Upcoming art and wine festival which needs our help
  2. There is also the upcoming celebration of leaders’ award which is an annual event
  3. There is also is the tech showcase which just happened last week at the Civic Center Plaza
  4. Dawn also discussed a number of scholarship programs that are available through the Mountain View Los Altos school district for high school students. She encouraged all of us to find out what type of scholarships are available and spread the word. There is also a separate high school mentoring program called AVID. It is for families that have a first-time college student. And is specifically formatted to provide opportunities for families who have not had any college experience from any of the family members.

There is so many events and programs in the Chamber that Dawn encouraged all of us to call or visit the Chamber to find out more. Dawn was enthusiastic about the Chambers future. Mountain View is a dynamic city and the Chamber intends to evolve and grow with the city as well. Thank you Dawn for your presentation.
