Announcements:

Craig and Emily visited Rotary One and they gave us a banner-yeah! We will send them one in return. 32.00 for lunch and strict dress code. 45 members attended and members not very familiar with Cayucos.

Car Wash is in the works -please sign up to help and the possible dates are October 18th, November 1st.

Pre-sale tickets 5.00 for car wash sell at least 10 tickets each. Committee needs to be formed.

Beach clean-up set for October 29th from 1-2 at the Pier with Cayucos Middle School.

Harbor festival set for October 4th and 5th

t-shirts ordered -give the shirts back to Sherry by the end of the day please!

Anil social Sept. 30th no venue confirmed yet

October 2nd is the meeting Anil will be visiting. Be there to meet him and show your fellowship. It is extremely important that ALL MEMBERS ATTEND!

"Guitars not Guns" is designed to reach out to "at risk" kids and deserving kids. The sole purpose is to give them a purpose in life and help them find positive things to look forward to in life. Dale works with the schools and has been 8-9 years in the profession. He realizes kids need positive self esteem, confidence and purpose, direction and discipline. Dale serves as the President on the chapter in SLO. He teaches kids how to play the guitar one hour a week for eight weeks which highly motivates them. He provides them with a guitar and emphasizes that if you complete the program the kid will get the guitar when completed the program, run 3 classes a year with 10-14 kids per class.

Kids are in the running for a scholarship and they become mentors to other kids rising in the program.

Publicity through different newspapers.

Dale teaches 6 cords in 8 weeks and hundreds of songs they can begin to play.

Program is responsible for changing kids lives in a positive direction. Giving them a goal to look forward to and after experiencing success, that feeling is powerful and keeps them going in a positive direction.
