Rotary moment was when administering shot to child with polio. Seeing gratitude from eyes of the mother brought in him a passion and zeal for service. Rotary is a vehicle to making a worthwhile contribution to society: find a passion to bring enthusiasm back.
Rotary is a way of life.
Adopt values for what Rotary stands for. By adopting them, you will be a better human being. Everything we say and do has an impact on another human being.
Thinking about yourself now thinking about others. Service above self is living the 4-way test everyday. Incorporating Rotary into your life gives an opportunity and ability to see beyond ourselves.
Important goal is to look beyond ourselves, work together as a team, expand and improve resources, it is up to us to present a common vision, educate communities in what we do, increase awareness and understanding and bring in new members. New members are like oxygen that rejuvenates the blood bring fresh ideas, energy and vitality, without new members clubs are bound for a decline, need to replenish the aging population, our responsibility to bring in a new member every year, 1.8 million Rotarians, urge each of you to bring a guest, don't prejudge.
Good programs and good projects will retain members.
The Rotary foundation: make it your foundation of choice, average 200 per member, giving into the annual fund that allows matching grants. Matching grants give us the ability to do good all over the world, every club in the district will benefit.
New Training program called "visioning" to support and take advantage of the opportunity to plan ahead, the goal is to make the club and district stronger.
Major goal: make our club stronger!
Make Dreams Real theme: What can we do to reduce the number of child mortality? Promote clean water, reduce illiteracy, poverty, hunger.
May 1st 2008 down to1,313 reported polio cases all over the world: Rotary has a hand in that.
50 cents per child to be immunized.
Collected over 30 million dollars and Rotary 1,000 per year for the next 3 years.
Our club: Has a responsibly and to bring the passion of Rotary's vision a reality.
