Rotary Club of Cayucos-Seaside Thursday, May 13, 2010 Call to order: 7:07 am Pledge Invocation Club Business: ï‚· Propose Gladys as a new member next week at our board meeting. ï‚· Concentrate on membership. May lose Joyce Lundy due to relocation to Los Osos. ï‚· Treasurer's Report: $6,700 total. $1,895 for the silent auction. $835 for the raffle. Great job everybody! ï‚· A date for the critique of the event. ï‚· Secretary's Report: up to 80% attendance. ï‚· Next week we will have the presentation to the kids that won the essay contest. 100 will go to first place, 50 for second, and 25 for third. ï‚· District 11 awards meeting on June 12th. ï‚· Guest Speaker: Arnold Douwdy of Pismo Beach ï‚· Here to assure us that it's okay to have membership difficulties. ï‚· What it takes to be an evolving Rotarian. ï‚· Visit another club in the district. ï‚· Membership: invite someone to the club for breakfast. Give them a card. ï‚· Answer questions and talk to them about Rotary. ï‚· Keep the members we have now-retention. Each president should go back to their club and write down the name of the person they think will not be in the club a year from now. People leave Rotary because they don't have the feeling of involvement. ï‚· Make sure the programs are fun! Business needs to be conducted of course, but make it interesting by incorporating music, interesting speakers and games. ï‚· Sam Green is a membership resource to consult with. ï‚· Give a Paul Harris fellow to someone else. ï‚· Go to the District Conference ï‚· Become a PRLS graduate and Master PRLS graduate. ï‚· Do a make-up in a foreign country. ï‚· Attend the Rotary International Convention. ï‚· Share an event or project in your own club. ï‚· Attend the district assembly. ï‚· Personally work on a project in another country. ï‚· Other events: BBQ for Holly Navolt. Can donate and we will discuss at next meeting. ï‚· June 24th is the roast for President Dan at 6:00. ï‚· Meeting adjourned @ 8:00
