Race To Eradicate Polio

Rotary Club of Cayucos-Seaside Thursday, July 30th, 2009 Call to order: 7:10 a.m Pledge Invocation Club Business:  Rotary Minute-Polio Plus We are doing a great job with the pig-over $700.00 dollars from our club. Keep it going oink oink! 2500 is our annual goal.  District Rankings  Next week, new member Pam will be inducted! Yahoo  Be there to show your support.  A great idea for our guest speaker is to donate 10 drops in their name and give a certificate to the speaker indicating their donation.  August 8th is the new date for the beach clean-up 10am-11 at the pier. Wear your yellow t-shirts and Sherry will bring the clippers and the bags.  Club Potluck/Social at Emily's hill house has been changed due to the Club social at the Embarcadero Grill on September 10th. The new date is September 17th. We will be dark that morning.  Annual Fundraiser Meeting update: price is set 40.00 per person or 75.00 for a couple. Theme: Western/Sunset Fundraiser 200.00 deposit for the Vet's Hall required.  October 32,24,25 is the District conference so e-mail Dan if you are interested.  Membership Seminar is Saturday, August 15th 8-12 at the Embassy Suites.  Basic PERLS October 10th in Cambria  Community News: Every Tuesday in Atascadero is hosting live music and a BBQ August 18th all the proceeds go to the Atascadero Rotary.  Guest Speaker: Craig Campbell  Will raise money for Polio by riding in the Baja 1000. Make a mile pledge and the money will go to Polio. Craig is searching for sponsors. Rotary club is in Ensenada so Craig is looking for support from them too. Race starts November 18,19,20,21st. Will be covered on NBC and the publicity and advertising is unlimited. Try to make it in 22 hours. WR450 Yamaha will do the race, but has another in the works for the race.  Race to Eradicate Polio is the title  Craig Campbell is racing to Victory for Polio. Help support him and Rotary by making a mile pledge donation.  Craig will have paperwork and proposals by mid-August. Will run an ad in the classified section in The Rotarian Magazine.  This Saturday donation day: raising money in front of the market and Spencer's market and donations will go to the homeless shelter and the food bank.  50/50 Drawing  Meeting adjourned @ 8:03 am
