'Tis the time of the year to think about giving, especially to those needing shelter from the cold, food from hunger and just a place to rest their heads.

Invocation- Chungsum delivered an invocation about service.

Chungsam reminds us that November is Foundation month. He talked about how our funds would stay in The Rotary Foundation for three years before they come back to us. So we need to start giving to see some in the future, so we are able to do good deeds and give more through the matching grant process.

Liz talked about our seed dollars that our district had allocated for us to use or lose. So, show up at the next board meeting Monday Nov. 10th to have a say in how we will be allocating them.

Dan spoke on attending the mini-membership seminar for Group 10 and 11 that was chaired by D5240 Membership Chair, Bob Mitchell. Meeting times, public relations, socials and good programs all help in retaining and recruiting new members.

Reported on our great turn out for beach clean up with the Cayucos Middle School, in conjunction with their Red Ribbon Week. Making the world a better place to live, by making better choices. We can all be proud of how clean our local beach is. Thanks to all!

Hilary has scheduled the next cookbook committee meeting for next Weds. Nov. 13th at her office @ 5:30

The next Fellowship Social/Meeting is on Thurs. Dec 18th; there's will be  no meeting that morning. Sign up sheet was circulated.

Reminders :  we are DARK, i.e., no meeting on Thanksgiving, the morning of our social, Christmas, and New Year's Eve. WOW.Rotary withdraws.:)

Jerry Walsh & Richard Margetson were our guest speakers.  They volunteers with the Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter. They showed us a very moving slideshow on the homeless in our community and how we can help. Their upcoming fundraiser, 'The 3rd Annual Homeless Shelter Fund Raiser is scheduled on Dec 13th 10:00 am -9:00pm @ the South Bay Community Center in Los Osos. 100% of proceeds go to this cause. Things they can always use include blankets, coats, coffee, sugar, creamer and of course, cash!
