4. Update on Cayucos Cookbook - Hilary= committee met last night, Wednesday, the 20th, project, Launch July 4th, involve the school, interview a family member and get their favorite recipe and write a paragraph/article about why the recipe is special, phase one: collecting recipes, October collection, old town historic recipes, restaurants and business, a little bit of art, similar to the new frontiers cookbook, 23-25 dollars, by December, January, sort through, systematic way. Sell on the 4th online, display at restaurants.

International meeting: matching grants, money comes from the board, 50/50 drawing etc. allocated us with 500, we have 200 dollars, we need to find a club that we want to help with their project, but long-term, pair with another club. Matching grants.org
0735 hrs Guest speaker: Kelly L Vandenheuvel & Ruby: mature female, life span in captivity 40-50 years, in the wild approx. 20 years,
Pacific Wildlife
Started with 5 individuals. No other wild animal service in the area. Mission with Pacific Wildlife is to rehabilitate and release sick injured and orphaned animals. Object is to get the animal back into the wild. Sometimes their injuries are so severe they are euthanized. 3 educational animals. Ruby came Red tail Hawk, was hit by a car, very common, or window on a house, she received brain damage, blind in one eye. One of the largest hawks in north America, out during the day, nocturnal. Keep the rodent population in control, serve an important purpose, to help protect them do not use poison in the gardens. Natural remedies are available and they is what she stresses when educating the youth. All volunteers: 25 that work 600 members, wildlife center in Morro Bay, been pen one year, open 7 days a week and this year as of 1200 animals have come in . Awareness is PG&E power plant: meant as a rehabilitation center. Michelle from the Los Osos: new event this year, celebrating grandparents day, emphasis on youth and adults, grandparents day, September. 7th Sunday, even calling old goats and little kids team relay, Baywood park, relay format and looking for two person teams of any age, focusing on the older and younger, family even with a BBQ to follow, afternoon 1:00 and the 18.00 per team, in advance or 20 dollars the day of the even and a number of awards. Flyers available. 6.00 per meal, Baywood lawn area in front of Maya restaurant.
