A quick lesson in managing time and emails.

Cayucos Seaside Rotary January 13, 2011 Present: Dick, Sherry, Jan, Dan, Gary, Gladys, Scott, Kat, Jessica, Emily Emily gave a toastmaster speech on applying the 4 way test to the mutt mitt. Erin Hoffman: Optimum Productivity There are 4 million emails a day/world wide What to do to clear it out? Instead of collecting mail, separate and clear out junk. Stop multi tasking, your IQ drops 10 pts when you try to do more than one thing at once. If you get distracted from your task, it will take 4 minutes to get back on track. If you are doing detailed work it will take 15 minutes to get back. Whatever you are dealing with emails, mail, bills, only deal with them once. If something will take 5 minutes are less do it! If you don't have time set aside a designated time to do it. Keep a "to do" list close at hand to jot down what needs to be done. Use only one calendar to keep track of everything. One calendar, one space, one task. Simplify and productivity will increase and frustration will decrease. I write this while sitting surrounded by piles of paper. Better focus and get productive!
