Engineers w/o borders was established in 2001.
CAYUCOS- SEASIDE ROTARY

Started @ 7:10 a.m.
Present: Emily, Kat, Brenda, Dick Scott, Pam Liz W., Liz G, Jessica
Liz W went to Omaha, NEB. Had a great time.
Pam moved to a new salon, Shear Dimensions, in Morro Bay,
Need to do peacekeeping again. Program is working; kids are involved and are using the program.
Dick is working on scholarship essays.
Everyone has to pay for your own vest, for work day. We will be having a barbeque after. We are supplying meat, drinks and charcoal. Will get a signup sheet for food to bring.
District assembly is the 9th. Liz and Sherry are going. Dick is going the 16th in Bakersfield.
Engineers without Borders was started 2001 in Colorado, for the people in Belize. It now has 12,000 members now.
Their mission is to sustain basic human needs. Projects need to have a long lasting impact. There has to be an educational program to go along with project so that people know why it is important. They have to make sure that people are capable of maintaining project after group leaves.
Anthony Ruh is involved with the India project:
Corn de-kerneler and sanitation. Started in 2010 250 villagers directly affected, over 2000 in region. Mostly vegetarians. Plans to return in June, 2011 for joint implantation and assessment trip.
Future projects centered on sanitation. Materials need to be available and affordable, so they can maintain the projects.
Adam Eberwin is involved with the Thailand project.
Low sand filtration started in 2010 and was completed in Dec, 2010.
Nicaragua: Health Clinic was started in 2005 currently involved in Camilo Ortega community.
It serves 18,000 people. Started by providing water storage tanks for the village
They are going back to access needs this spring
