Rotary Club of Cayucos-Seaside Thursday, February 25, 2010 Call to order: Pledge Invocation Club Business:  Reminder to pay your dues to Jan.  To replace the scooter for the fundraiser, we are now pondering a TV instead. Members agreed to speak with local businesses about getting the item at cost etc…  Another committee meeting will need to be scheduled to discuss further.  Beach clean-up today from 2-3 in conjunction with Cayucos students.  Sherry has distributed flyers and tickets and sheet to record names and money collected for May fundraiser.  Try to round up some prizes whether it's small or on a grander scale. We can add prizes together.  Rotarians at work day in April 24th, 2010. Combining with the Morro Bay club for this event.  PRLS is having a cocktail party on March 27th from 4-6 in Thousand Oaks.  Brenda Daley is the recipient of the Paul Harris award. Chungsum needs her id number to process the paperwork.  Be All That You Can Be. Is the tenet of Guest speaker Jenny Brantlee.  High performance leadership program. Toastmaster helps people get over their fear in public speaking but interpersonally in job interviews.  Look at the things that are important to you. Working on the high performance leadership project be inspired and have a plan .  The most valuable thing about doing the project is having a plan and to be really clear about that plan and not just winging it. Also, give acknowledgement to people who were on the team and the participants as well. Jenny also learned through the event is that deep down, people are good, they want to help; they just need to be lead.  Feedback is a great tool to give and to receive. The most exciting part was sitting down and declaring her goal and meeting it.  Toastmaster International is a global organization with a pyramid model. It's all about membership.  Estero Bay Toastmasters have been meeting for 4 years and they meet once a month at Dorn's.  6-month fee is 48.00 for new members and 27.00 for veterans. Fees vary depending on the club.  Written skills become better along with speaking skills because you are writing your own speeches and developing speeches on something of interest to you.  Craig, Emily, Jan, Dan, Gary, Pam, Liz, Sherry, Kat,  This Sunday from 1-4 the Lions club is putting on a Chili Cook-off and for 20.00 you can taste 25 tastes of Chili.  This Saturday is the Atascadero Crab Feed. Have Fun!  Doors open at 5:30 and dinner starts at 6:00.  March 27th Toastmasters contest at the Robobank in Cambria. Contest starts at 9:30 and breakfast.  50/50 drawing  Meeting adjourned 8:03
