Charter members of the newly formed Rotary Club of Cayucos Seaside were out on Cayucos Beach to conduct a beach clean-up at the Cayucos Beach last Saturday, February 23, the 103rd anniversary of Rotary.

In the photo above are (front row from left) Sherry Sim, club president, Vera Wallen (Rotarian from Camrbia Club), Laura Ottenberg, Donna Chipman, Emily Campbell, Skylar Krouse, and present in the back row are Scott Beer, president of Rotary Club of Morro Bay, Jessica Peterson, club secretary, Brad Heizenbrader, Jim Dotta, Dan Costley, club vice president, Liz Gray, and Adam Krouse.

The County Parks have given approval for the club to adopt the Cayucos Beach, and provided bags and leather gloves for the clean up.  Joining in the fun is Skylar Krouse, daughter of Adam Krouse, a sixth grader from the Cayuocs Middle School.  Skylar, who is also a drummer, decided to help when she heard that her dad and her favorite teacher, Ms. Jessica Peterson, were going to help keep the beach clean for all to enjoy.  The group had lots of fun, received thanks and applause from those out and about that morning. An enthusiastic couple, Dr. Scott Negri and his wife, Karen, decided to join and jumped in to help.
