Our club will still be able to auction off a scooter if we comply with the State Attorney General's rules. Subject to meeting with their club foundation's Board and a 10% fee, the Morro Bay club is willing to allow our club to use their 501(c)(3) exemption status.

Program: Guest speakers : Natalie Ferdig & Catlin Madden from the Central Coast Agricultural Network.

Formed in the early '90's, the Central Coast Agricultural Network is working to educate and inform residents of the Central Coast to support local farmers, share and enjoy the benefits of local produce and its impact on local economy.
Many benefits abound from buying locally. These include fresher produce due to shorter traveling distance; less use of fertilizer or chemicals as more local farmers are farming organically; better taste and higher nutrition, more food and fiber choices; stronger interaction between the local consumer and the local farmers; improving the local economy; and more.
Natalie & Catlin explained that it's important for us, the club members, as consumers to state our preference, that is, we prefer local produce. As informed consumers, we can help to spread the word, and encourage more consumption of local produce.
So far, the Central Coast Agricultural Network is funded by grants. To support the Central Coast Agricultural Network, or for more information, visit http://www.centralcoastgrown.org

50/50 Drawing Sherry won but she picked the black chip, so the money to go back to the club.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 a.m. Next meeting - Thursday, August 13, 2009 @ 7:00 a.m.
