Understanding Rotary Part 2
WEEKLY DOSE OF ROTARY INFORMATION
ROTARY ALPHABET SOUP
Regardless of whether you have been a member of a Rotary Club since January or July, you have heard other Rotarians using Rotary acronyms. Like all new Rotarians over the years you may be wondering, "Why can't they just say what they mean? How are we expected to know what they are talking about?" You may feel that you're the only one who doesn't know the answer. For that reason the following was put together as a list of Rotary acronyms and their explanations. Some, like RI, are quite obvious. And some, like PRID, are used infrequently - but you may see them in print, especially when reading The Rotarian.
If you have heard or read any other acronym that has been left off this list, please email me so that we can add it to the list for the next round of "new members" and I'll send you the explanation by return email.
To add to your breadth of Rotary knowledge, consider attending the Rotary District Conference next April. You will hear more about it as we get closer to the date. And if you really want to get into Rotary, or travel with fellow Rotarians, speak to Jan Eric Nordmo or Gary Hong about what they are organizing for the Rotary International Convention in
