Theranova Project - Feb. 2010 Update

Dear Mr. Truitt;

It is good to hear from you too. Thank you for your mailing address.

2009 was a tough year, due to the Romanian elections and economical situation. At least in 2010 we do not have to worry about the paralyzing effect elections have on the health system in  a country like Romania. Now we can just focus on reaching out to individuals, with the hopes that the turbulence experienced in the State Health sector has settled and they will give the green light to our sector and others. Maybe one day we will have the opportunity to sit down and I can explain these iddues better to you.

We have employed two ladies in the Timisoara workshop. The one is wearing a prosthesis and both are keen to help others. The activity is picking up and I hope that we will be able to get back to you with results and pictures. The equipment you have so kindly provided there, has given us the opportunity to serve better and faster on location.

On Tuesday we had a colonel from the Romanian army, who has lost his leg in Afghanistan. We have started making him a prosthesis as well.

I am sending you the GOOD NEWS follow up to our contributions to THERANOVA in Romania. As you can see below the equipment has arrived and they are helping children in the area. Roy Truitt

Dear Mr. Truitt; It is with great excitement and pleasure that I let you know that the oven and laminating machine have been delivered in the workshop in Timisoara. I am absolutely thrilled and so grateful for your kind and generous implication and for your club's support to make this happen. It seemed like a dream in the beginning, but today I can say that it was diligently followed through and pushed until it was finalized. I do include a picture of the oven, but it remains a tool. It is a tool which helps us to serve many children and adults for many years to come with prosthetics and orthotics. Those are the pictures of great value; the ones of smiling and satisfied faces of these individuals otherwise condemned to an immobilized life of dependency. We help them to stand up and look life in the eye with full mobility. Thank you for partnering with us and making this happen. Jaco
