Over 600 kids in Santa Clara now have new shoes this fall school year!  Books, fun and caring smiles were handed out the last weekend of September and the first weekend of October 2012, as Rotarians, their family members, friends and Interactors from local Santa Clara High Schools banded together to purchase, transport, organize, size and fit over 600 children in need at local elementary schools in Santa Clara and Alviso.

Over 75 man hours were spent preparing for the event.  This year, Walmart, Mission City Community Fund and the Rotary Club of Santa Clara put forth the money and effort to get this annually sustained community project in motion.  Under the guise of Chairperson Michael Beck, the event is a continuing tribute to the humanitarian efforts that the Rotary Club of Santa Clara has exemplified in its 75 years plus of existence.
