We always knew Tanya was easy on the eyes, but seeing her in infra-red was truly exciting, whereas, the happy face of Anton Morec in infra-red could have been a frightening sight if you saw this in a dark alley.
 

Last week's Speaker

Our speaker Ken Bower "Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy" wowed us with a great scientific presentation enlightening us on the universe and how we view our galaxy and neighboring stars.  Stephen Hawking was even thought to be seen strewing about, but, then it was realized it was only Terry asleep in chair.   Thanks Andy for bringing another great speaker!

 

 

This week's speaker

Our own Maria Daane will dazzle us with her charm and presence as she tells us what is up with the Santa Clara Library and its foundation.  A must know for all Santa Clara residence.  The library system is something that I personally have a fondness for as all the research for my business was done at a local neighborhood library. 

 

This past weekend

Our dinner with Gary and Linda Citti & Scotch Sampling Event this past weekend was a wonderful success.  We dined, we wined, and we pined for scotch.  OK, well most wined and dined and a stogy or two were lit up all in the name of our Polio Plus efforts to raise $1,000.   Our goal was to come close to $1,000, unfortunately we were not within the expect $100 - $200 area of our goal, in fact, we went over our goal by near $1,000.  While the billing still needs to be official, it appears that we will net near $2,000 on the event.  Looks like Anton may not need an event next year?! Great job everyone.  Thanks to Gary & Linda, Shawn, Jim, Phil and all others who gave donations, sweat equity and or material to this war effort.  Thanks all those that attended and braved their fear of sampling a fine single malt all in the name of fighting polio!  Rumor is that some have now actually converted the Scotch nectar of the gods!

*       Sign up now for the District Celebration scheduled for April 23 -25.  District 5170  

*       Its Bocce Ball time make sure you sign up on-line or with John Bertolotti for our April 8th meeting.  It is an evening event and is always sold out!

*       Board meeting is this Thursday 6 PM.  All are welcome and Red Badgers are encouraged to attend.
