Last week's Meeting

Anton Morec, President Elect, foreshadowed his upcoming tenure and right now I must apologize for my last meeting summary which clearly stated "THERE WILL BE NO JEEP PICTURES", obviously there were JEEP pictures, and there were far more than I could have imagined.  The audience was mesmerized by Anton's presentation; and it was fantastic and encouraging to see at least four potential new members not rush for the door after the presentations, giving hope that we may actually get new members?!  All kidding aside, I want to thank Anton for his enthusiasm and his thoughtful presentation.   I have spent many hours with Anton since his nomination, and I am pleased to see that he will carry on in the fine legacy set forth with the Presidents before me.  We have sincere and high expectations that our club will be in well intended and competent hands.  Please let Anton know your future vision of the club, as he is eager to serve us all.  Thanks Anton, and next time if you show another jeep photo, I shall bring out my photos of my 240Z and NSX, along with some of the passengers I had in them.  ;)  JK.

This Week

It's the Club Foundation report!!  This presentation will be hosted by Miles Barber, Foundation President for the coming year, also on hand, will be George Delucchi and Nick Streit.  This meeting is a must for all members new and senior.  Much of our annual work is dedicated to our own "Foundation".  It is important that we all have a good fundamental understanding of the "why? what? and how?" of our club's own Foundation.  Once you are aware, you will begin to know, and once you know, you are involved.  Be involved! 

PS.  We are looking for a logo for our Foundation so that we may return the "Federation" logo on loan from Star Trek.  Please submit Foundation logo ideas to John Bertolotti.

Club Updates

Get it on your calendar, August 13-15, travel to Ameca, Mexico, as part of Area 6 delegation to see the impact of our DDF monies.  If you are interested, let either myself or Anton know, so that we may get you involved,  and you may see first hand how you impact lives in other countries.

Remember June 3, it is time to visit with the Past Presidents at the Elk's Lodge in Santa Clara for our annual BBQ. 

Don Skinner has informed us that our LaPaloma Brunch brought in $600.  Thanks Don and great job!!

July 8^th is the District Governor Loren Harper's Debunking. 

Also, I believe June 24 is my last meeting as president,  PP Bill Carver is controlling this infamous date, please see him for details, and then let me know! 

Based on popular demand or lack there of, our final board meeting for my term is moved to next Tuesday, May 25^th at 6 PM, Holder's Inn on Saratoga Avenue.

Final comments

Kudos are in order:  Charlie Wasser was involved in the District Leadership Academy - a 6 month long program to train potential leaders; topics covered many aspects
of Rotary, PR, and Foundation.  Charlie was the first student who had not been a club President yet to attend the Academy.  The class started
with 19 and only 9 graduated.   Congratulations to Charlie and thanks for R-E-P-R-E-S-E-N-T-I-N-G the SC contingency.  WORD!
