Important Message from the Board

Board Meeting IMPORTANT

At the recent board member we reviewed a number of issues pressing our club. One issue in particular took up a good portion of our 3.5 hour meeting; and that was club commitment. We are asking all Rotarian in the Rotary Club of Santa Clara to reaffirm their commitment to the club, we ask that you do this through attendance and prompt payment of your bills as well as through involvement in the clubs events. We are a service club, without this component of the club we cannot be an effective club. While Rotary International would like us to have high enrollment numbers, we believe that a club is only as strong as our least committed member and we want to encourage everyone to be committed. A smaller club with more involved membership can accomplish more and be more connected with each other if that is what it takes. Please reflect on your involvement in the club and make the choice to be a stronger member.

We also are changing the way our attendance will be maintained at the club. We now ask that you all initial in at the Sergeant at Arms table when attending the meetings. Please remember "Check-in" at the beginning of the meeting. Also, members that have past due amounts, it is your responsibility to resolve these issues promptly with the Treasurer Linda Condron. If you contact her by e-mail, please also copy the Club Secretary Charlie Wasser and myself, the Club President. It is our goal to clean up all past due accounts within the next 30 days. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

We are also looking to simplify payment of your dues and or events. On-line payment through credit cards is being considered and your feedback to the board members would be appreciated. ?????

Thanks again to the Board Member and Directors that endured our marathon meeting last Tuesday, we accomplished a lot and have more solid purpose moving forward.

Dinner with Gary Cittti and Scotch Sampling Event, Sign up for Scotch (Open to Rotarians & Guests) we have a limited amount of room and already have 28 registered guests with room for only a couple. If you signed up for the event originally in October, your name may still be on the list, please review and confirm your attendance. In addition to great company, wine, dinner and the finest of Scotch, you will be contributing to the fight against polio and will have the chance to win some great gifts from Great America, The San Jose Earthquakes, Byington Wineries, Beltramo's and others. Just the gifts alone are worth the price of $50 to attend this event, so don't delay sign up today! Bring your check book!! ;)
