For whom the Bell Tolls!

Stammtisch Table is upset:

They sit near the president's podium. They are all in the corner of the room. This corner location can produce an echo. There has been discussion at the Stamtisch table that the bell ringing has been too loud lately. Morec has vowed to hit a "soft" bell in 2010-2011. Holder had no comment, he was still in shock at his election. There was some talk about a smurf gavel.

Speaking of the Stamtisch table:

It took another member hit this week with Ken Rowell's announcement that Dan Holder will be our club president 2011-2012. This makes the last two presidents coming from the corner table. (Bertolotti moved away because of this). We have various members from the outlying tables now eyeing a spot at the Stamtisch table as the reputation has grown into legend. This table is not easy folks. Think abour your decision carefully. You have to be up to date on baseball, local politics and wine. Plus, read about their bell problem.

Holder has only one request?

Dan's 2011-2012 year will be interesting. "Don't tell my wife I did this."  I guess we will have designated stand-in presidents anytime we have a function with our spouses. Miles Barber has already volunterred to take the first shift, fine the entire club and sit down. Yep, this will be interesting. Then we can have Lorenzo back to handling Valentine's again.

Grover has returned:

Mark Grover, club treasurer for 25 years, returned for a visit on Thursday. He was wearing a shirt won for foreclosing on more widows and orphans than any banker in San Mateo in 2009. The bankers don't get bonuses any more but they can still have competition and fun. Congratulations, Mark.

See you on January 7...never a dull moment. (Did I mention the bell problem?)
