Dawn has worked at FIRST 5 for over 3 years.
She oversees all communications and public awareness campaigns, collateral materials, and the organization's website (which receives over 3 million hits annually). And she is the Communications Lead for regional strategies amongst the 12 Bay Area FIRST 5 Commissions.
One of the FIRST 5 products Dawn is most proud of creating is the Kindergarten Readiness Handbook which provides practical tips and information in multiple languages to help prepare kids for a successful kindergarten adventure. This handbook is now the standard admission tool given to all entering Kindergarteners in Santa Clara County school districts.
Dawn has a background in sales and marketing, having worked as a high tech sales manager for 11 years and as the marketing director for the Mtn. View Center for the Performing Arts. She is also very active in the community and is the Past President of the Junior League of San Jose. Dawn received her B.S. in Marketing from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. As a mother of four, Dawn is motivated every day by the knowledge that FIRST 5 is helping parents be better parents to their kids.
