Fellow Rotarians,
Our speaker this week is John Crump brought to us by Don Skinner. John is one of the authors of Thunderbolts of the Hell Hawks the visual history of the 365th Fighter Group, one of the most decorated and effective P-47 units in the Ninth Air Force during World War II. Their fighting style was intense--close to the ground, dive-bombing, and strafing as they supported the US Army at the Normandy landings, and in the race across France, Belgium and Germany.

This week we have our monthly board meeting on Wednesday, November 20th at 6:00PM, Holders Country Inn, 1424 Saratoga Ave, San Jose. All members are welcome to attend, just let me know in advance so we can plan the seating accordingly. If you have a Red Badge and still haven’t attended a board meeting, we would love to see you there. Dinner is included.
Thank you to those who have donated already to the Rotary International Foundation for this Rotary year. If you have not yet donated or sent in the check for your pledge, now is the time. The District 5170 drawing for those who have donated is coming up on December 4th and the grand prize is a trip for two including airfare and 5 nights lodging at the Rotary International Convention in Sydney. Those who have donated $200 will get 10 tickets, $500 donors will get $35 tickets, and $1000 donors will get 70 tickets. You must contact our Rotary Foundation Chair Ted Moorhead to get your tickets, and completed tickets must be turned back in to him before December 3rd. He will have them at the meeting this week, and if you will not be there this week, you can contact him at Ted_Moorhead@ml.com to arrange to get your tickets for the drawing.
