Fellow Rotarians,
 
This week we will be meeting on Thursday evening at Campo di Bocce for our annual Bocce night.  We will have a no host bar from 6:30-7:00, dinner from 7-8:00 and Bocce at 8:00.  The address is 565 University Ave, Los Gatos.  You must RSVP if you plan to attend the event by contacting John Bertolottti at john@berto-bearcat.com.  Please note that we are not meeting at Bay Club for our lunch meeting this week.
 
Thanks to all who have contributed to our Polio eradication drive.  The polio vaccine has helped to prevent 10 million cases of Polio—absolutely astounding!  And, every donation you make gets us closer to eradicating this terrible disease once and for all.  Your donations will go even farther thanks to the Gates Foundation’s 2 to 1 match.  Checks should be made payable to The Rotary Foundation, and for every $100 you donate you will be entered into our drawing on May 15th for a new iPad Mini.
 
Rotary U is coming up on May 14th at the SJ Doubletree Hotel from 5:30-9:00.  This District event is a fun evening to learn more about Rotary and meet Rotarians from other clubs in our district.  Dinner is included.  The club pays your way and president-elect Steve Rainbolt buys the wine, so what’s not to love!  For red badge members, this is a great way to meet your blue badge requirement of attending a district event.  Contact Steve Rainbolt atstrainbolt@comcast.net to register.
 
You may remember that our club donated $1000 to help the Girl Scout troop from St. Justin’s School build a community garden.  Their project, along with our contribution, was written about in the Valley Catholic Newsletter.

5/01:  Evening event:  Bocce Ball at Campo di Bocce.  (Please note that this meeting takes the place of our regular lunchtime meeting.  If you are unable to attend, you will be charged the normal lunch-rate unless you do a makeup meeting.)
