Fellow Rotarians,
 
I hope you all had a lovely and relaxing Thanksgiving.  This week we are back in action and have our speech contest coordinated by Bob Buchser and Heath Hanich.  The students from our local high schools spend hours writing and preparing their speeches and it is always impressive to watch them in action.  Be there to show them your support.  
 
The Christmas for Kids committee will also be meeting at  the Bay Club at 11:00 before our regular meeting this week.  If you are on the committee or want to find out how you can help, plan to be there.  You can also contact Tom Clark at  tdclark001@sbcglobal.net to sign up to help with the wrapping and/or Christmas for Kids if you have not signed up already.

12/5:  Speech Contest
12/10:  Wrapping for Christmas for Kids, 6:00-8:00 pm.  Eastern Furniture, 1231 Comstock Street, Santa Clara
12/12:  Christmas for Kids, Lexus of Stevens Creek, 3333 Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose
12/19:  Evening meeting:  Holiday Dinner, Hilton Hotel, 4949 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara.  $70 for adults/$40 for kids.  Please RSVP to me by December 9th and specify your entrée option of steak, salmon, or vegetarian. The Hilton is offering special room rates of $79 for those who want to stay the night.  Ask for the Rotary Group Rate. (Please note that this meeting takes the place of our regular lunchtime meeting.)
