Tony reached out at touched all of us today by allowing his cell phone to ring at the start of the meeting.  Tony is now the Charter Member of The $100 Club.

Today was dedicated to all the Rotary Moms and expecting moms (Kelly is having a boy!) for their inspiration, devotion guidance and boundless love they have so unconditionally given.  Through our laughter, smiles and tears it is their unconditional love that will remain embedded in our hearts and souls forever.

A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.- Unknown

Tony is a Past President of Santa Clara Lions and we all know that because he welcomed us all to the Santa Clara Lions.  Tony is now a Charter Member of the $200 Club as well!  Congratulations Tony and thank you for your generosity!

Not having that feeling of fulfillment and wanting to be part of something greater, Tony became a Santa Clara Rotarian 2 ½ years ago and his sponsor was Miles Barber!  Tony also currently serves on our Board as a Director.

Tony is the Director of Santa Clara Realty and his philosophy in business is “to treat each client as a unique individual with special needs” and he claims that this is a standard that sets his business apart from most Realtors, but do not tell Larry that!

Tony gave an inspiration about surrounding ourselves around positive people and Area Governor Jan Eric led the club in the pledge.

District 5170 Governor for Rotaract, Joseph Bittner visited the club and spoke a little bit on Rotaract.  Josephs Aunt, Nancy Bittner from the Seattle Rotary Club presented Joseph his first Paul Harris making it a third generation for the Bittner family.  Thank you and congratulations!

On official business was our AG, Jan Eric who gave a presentation on the District Conference at Squaw Creek on June 01, 02, and 03.  To date we have Sandy, Gary, Jan and Dan attending.

Jan announced the DG Roast and Toast for Arley C Marley III will be held at Saratoga Springs on July 12.  The club is picking up half the cost for Rotarians to attend.  Our own Jan is hosting the evenings Roast!

Lidia, Joe and Mike S., were recognized for their efforts in the Rebuilding Together project in San Jose.  Painting, replacing fences, demo work, replacing floors, trimming of trees, installing smoke detectors, designing and building of a new deck were are accomplished on a Saturday work day.  Amazing effort and you are continuing to change lives!

Miles and the 2012 Fun Run Committee were recognized for their dedication and efforts to the Fun Run and announced that $40k was added to the Santa Clara Rotary Foundation…amazing job!  We will be looking for more Rotarians to attend and cheer on the runners at next year’s event.

Joe, Frank and Gerry have put a lot of effort and an unbelievable amount of time in preparing for the Silicon Valley BBQ Championships and the time is coming where you will be asked to help out!  Please make every effort to give some of your time on June 29 & 30 and help with clean up the morning of July 01.  Thank you in advance!!!

President Elect-Elect Lou Ann introduced four of our Scholarship Recipients from Santa Clara, Wilcox and New Valley High Schools and each of them thanked our members for their generosity and commitment to their education.   Thank you Lou Ann for your efforts!

Lou Ann’s number was drawn in the Joker’s Wild with no Joker in sight!

Another loser means the pot is now $1,400!

Our Advertising Kick Off got underway with Andy at the helm and he gave a PowerPoint presentation.  He provided advertising materials to all the participants as well.    You should be expecting emails and phone calls from your Team Captains as they will be advising and encouraging you on a weekly basis.  Now is the time to start reporting your leads.  Great job Andy and thank you as always!

This week we will hear from Chris Boyd from Kaiser Permanente and we are sure you will find Chris engaging and entertaining in his presentation.
