The Rotary Clubs in McKinney, Texas, have joined together to make the vision of an All-Abilities Playground a reality. This would happen by entering a partnership with the City of McKinney. The city is providing the site in Phase II of Bonnie Wenk Park, located near the corner of Virginia Parkway and Hardin Blvd. Additionally, the city will enhance the infrastructure around the playground with a customized restroom adjacent to the playground, ramps and additional parking for vans and buses. The McKinney Rotary Clubs have committed to raise $560,000 from community and business sponsorships to pay for the additional costs of an All-Abilities Playground’s specialized equipment and foundation. The All-Abilities Playground at Bonnie Wenk Park in McKinney officially opened on June 15th, 2019.
