Anita Kratka of SCORE North Bay!

The Speaker for our August 27, 2020 meeting was Anita Kratka of SCORE North Coast. Anita is a graduate of UCLA and worked for many years focusing on sales and revenue growth for midsize companies providing consulting services to Fortune 100 companies such as Wells Fargo and Kaiser Permanente. She uses this experience for her volunteer work advising startup companies with SCORE.

SCORE’s mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education. Its core values include providing business advice and mentoring, low or no cost business training, and sharing free business templates and resources. Since its inception in 1964 as a resource partner of the Small Business Administration, SCORE has helped over 11 million people in pursuit of their business goals. SCORE volunteer mentors provide 1-on-1 mentoring to help aspiring business people avoid costly mistakes. SCORE is proven to help business startups succeed. In 2019, SCORE helped create over 29,681 new businesses! SCORE has free business templates, blog posts and online courses to help people start businesses. It has a resource library, live and recorded webinars, and courses on demand.

SCORE’s local chapter serves Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Lake and Humboldt Counties. It has 35 active mentors and subject matter experts. They have held 372 individual mentoring sessions as of July 2020. Some of their most popular local workshops are Quickbooks, digital marketing and social networking. They also offer timely webinars relating to PPP and EIDL loan forgiveness.

SCORE’S mentors are bound by important ethical requirements. They agree not to make money in any way from SCORE clients and may not use SCORE’s client or member database for commercial reasons. These volunteers are there for you and want you to succeed!

Thank you, Anita, for this informative and timely discussion of SCORE. We appreciate your dedication and hard work helping people succeed in these challenging times.
