It was the first Hybrid Sunrise Rotary Meeting of the soon-to-be-post-pandemic summer of 2021, held at Franchetti's as well as on Zoom.
President Jennifer Adams presided at the podium backed by a screen of virtual members each in their remote "frames".
The president graciously acknowledged several members including Del Raby and Peter Hoberg who had arrived at the restaurant at 6 a.m. in order to prepare for this momentous meeting. As well as others, including Stacey Drucker-Andress and Steve Amend who were responsible for the breakfast enjoyed by all present.
Jennifer called upon a fellow Jennifer (Hembed? Rogers? Hembed-Rogerrs?) to give the thought for the week, which encouraged all to stay positive, no matter what ....
"A woman woke up one day and saw that she had 3 hairs on her head. She said, 'Today I will braid my hair.' The next day she woke to find 2 hairs and said 'Today I will part my hair.' When she woke on the third day to only 1 hair, she said, 'Today I will wear my hair in a pony tail.' And when she woke to no hair, she celebrated. 'Today I do not need to do my hair!'"
As well as acknowledging birthdays, anniversaries and dealing with the raffle, President Jennifer announced that her "Woo Woo" administration includes astrology and reminded all that we are currently under the sign of Leo.
