Pelican Eyes Resort - Six days and five nights at Casa Santa Rosa, a first class 2,400 square foot freestanding villa at the Pelican Eyes Resort in San Juan del
Sur, Nicaragua. The resort (and our villa) was home to the cast and crew of the
“Survivor-Nicaragua” episode. The villa has two master bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two queen beds, both with private baths, in a setting with views of the Pacific Ocean, the San Juan del Sur Bay and the valley leading to the seaside village. The living area upstairs also has a futon that can sleep two and full bathroom. The villa is within easy walking distance of the resort’s hillside restaurant and one of three infinity pools (about 100 yards away). The village of San Juan del Sur is just a 5-10 minute walk downhill to enjoy shopping, the bay, great restaurants and local charm. The package does not include transportation to/from Managua airport. Travel time is about 1 ½ - 2 hours. The resort does provide transportation at a cost of about $125 each way (not per person). We can arrange this for you with the resort when we make your reservations.
The Villa is available for rent so reservations are on a first come first serve basis. No blackout dates but popular holidays book quickly. Area is considered drytropical from November thru May, with rainy season starting in June and ending in late October. January can be windy. No Visas are required for travel to Nicaragua. Includes daily maid service. The package at the Villa does not include meals or airfare.
San Juan River Adventure - We are combining the five-night resort package at
Pelican Eyes with a four-day three-night package down the San Juan River of Nicaragua staying at the Sabalos Eco-Lodge for two adults. While at the Lodge all meals are covered. Stay at a riverside “Swiss Family Robinson” open-air cabana. Wake up to the sound of birds and howler monkeys. Enjoy the history of nearby El Castillo (home to a fort built in the 1650’s to guard the river from marauding pirates), tour the local biosphere reserve, kayak during the day and go on a Cayman spotting tour at night.
All excursions, transportation to and from San Carlos (location of landing strip) are part of the package. You can comfortably manage these two packages back to back to make for a nine-day eight-night package that you will remember for a lifetime. Adding more travelers to the San Juan River adventure can happen too. Contact John Jones for details. Check out the Sabalos Lodge website at www.sabaloslodge.com.
Airfares are not included. Air transportation from Managua to/from San Carlos is via LaCostena. LaCostena is donating a two for one air deal. John Jones can provide assistance and recommendations but winning bidder is responsible for airfares.
