Sara Phillips Spaulding and her husband Samuel Kimbles are lost home survivors of our recent wild fires.  Their idyllic lifestyle changed with the landscape as their house and contents were consumed by flames. 

Sara, a retired therapist turned  artist and teacher uses her art to help others heal and develop their creativity.  Sam, a practicing Clinical Psychologist has association the San Francisco  C.G. Jung Institute. He has served as their President.    The Institute is known worldwide for its ARAS, or Archive of Research for Archetypal Symbolism.

Sam’s speciality includes cultural trauma such as the Holocaust and natural disasters.

Sara and Sam will weave their story of loss and recovery with their threads of personal and professional perspective.

Liz Colbert and Stacey Drucker Andress focus attention to speaker Santa Rosa City Council member Ernesto Olivares.

Councilman Olivaris posited three top priorities on the City agenda:  Homelessness, Cannabis and Downtown vitality.

Homelessness is a complex issue, but the City agrees with international studies which point to stable housing as the prerequisite to stable lives.  Problems of drug and substance abuse, or mental illness can best be managed when people have sustainable shelter and nutrition.  Coordinated Entry is the triage principle of placing the most vulnerable first.  While most who find themselves homeless resolve it in 30 days, those who cannot are most at risk for harm to themselves and escalating consumption of private public and resources.
