Electric Vehicle Charging Plans for Sonoma County, by Chris White of Kittleson & Associates
Our special guest speaker for December 18, 2025 was Chris White, whose topic for the meeting was “Electric Vehicle Charging Plans.” Chris is a Senior Principal Planner with Kittelson & Associates in Sacramento. She has 20 years of experience in vehicle electrification strategies and deployment planning. Chris is currently working with Sonoma County to develop a working regional plan for the equitable deployment of electric vehicle charging stations. She is a member of the West Sacramento Rotary Club.
The project seeks to identify locations that fill gaps in the current public charging sites. They are focusing on places that support travel, tourism, and economic development; convenient charging for residential EVs; and the transition of fleets and business vehicles to EVs. At the completion of the project they will have created an action plan for the implementation and funding of the installation of EV chargers. Chris’ view is that everyplace is a good place for an EV charger except places where there is no electric power or which might create an ecological problem. Chris and her team and partners are now at the public comments phase of the project. They’ve created a comprehensive interactive map of all current EV charging stations and are asking the public to help identify other locations.
