The Incomparable Max Bridges - 18-Day Tour of Southeast Asia

Max was our “guest” speaker for last Thursday’s meeting.  He presented photographic highlights of his trip in January throughout Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Max traveled with his wife, Dee Dee and a group of their regular travel buddies. Max highly recommends the travel company he used, OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel).

Max and Dee Dee’s 18-day excursion, told in photos, started in Bangkok, proceeded to Laos and the Mekong River, including a trip to Vientiane, then to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the Angkor Wat temples, and finally to Ho Chi Minh City. As we all know, Max is a man of few, but important, words and he let his photos speak for him.

When asked about a photo (“Max, what’s that photo of”) he typically responded, “A temple or something,” (Max had lots of temple photos).  When asked what type of food he ate in Thailand, he reasonably and correctly responded: “Thai food.” When asked about a statue in a photo, he responded: “That’s a statue!” Max, thank you for giving us the tour, it was almost like being there!
