Just What Is SCARC?

Now that your attention is curious~

Quite simply, SCARC is our local cohort of Sonoma County Area Rotary Clubs.  Formed in the mid 1990's, the purpose was originally for club Secretaries to share information.  So much fun was happening that attendance grew to include all interested members.  With 20 clubs in the county to share almost monthly hosting, different venues afford a great chance to meet and learn much about our local Rotary activities.  New partnerships emerge:

Goodwill and Better Friendships ~ I learned the Coronado California Club wanted to directly help recovery in the recent Kincade fire efforts.  They donated $5K to help rebuild Foothills Park in Windsor.

Discover how Sonoma Valley Rotary is bridging the human organ donation network, and that SoCo is at the heart of the United States support as illustrated by the inspiring story of Nicholas Green, the Bodega Bay child whose parents donated his organs after his untimely death in Italy.  Visit  his Internationally renown Bell Tower Memorial in Bodega Bay.

Sustain the momentum Global Grant partnering, share ongoing status of our Sabalos Surgery Center and listen to nearby club's similar initiatives.

The meetings are a superlative  opportunity to see and leverage the reach of Rotary!!

This meeting's featured Speaker, Dr. Jeff Shapiro M.D. founder of the Golden Gate Relay delivered an understandable graduate level course of health, medicine and Organ Donation.  Everyone came away with a gold medal  message, just ask Sunriser's Del, Marty, Paul or Rich!!!

Jeff's presentation had something for every interest level!

Each meeting is different~  next SCARC is slated for January 30, 2020 hosted by Russian River Rotary.  Watch  for details in a District email and flyer.  Club Presidents and Secretaries are on the email list, along with about 60 other enthusiasts.  July is traditionally hosted by Sebastopol at Balletto Winery and February in Cloverdale for a great Crab Feed.
