SCARC

Last week Sunrise Rotary hosted the January meeting of SCARC, unveiling District 5130's first PEACE WALL!  Designed and built by Sunrise Rotarian Leroy "Hammar" Carlenzoli and commissioned by District Peace Advocate Mike Kelley, the wall is a ground-breaking bridge between District Rotarians and Rotary International's continuing path to peace and world-wide goodwill.

With Keynote Speaker and Rotary Peace Fellow Patricia Schaefer, local Rotarians took to challenge to discuss and graphically illustrate "what does peace look like?"

Representative spokespersons from each table gave their group's summary.  A guest and United Nation's Peace Exchange Student from Fiji provided a most inspiring description of his experience in Kenya and the overwhelming impact that cross cultural travel and oeace-centered exchanges had on his outlook and family.
