Santa Rosa Sunrise Meets Honfleur Sunset

Following the evening meeting program on Vietnam, the near 30 members walked to a waterside restaurant for a nutritious two hour social repast. The ham hock entree was both delicioius beyond description, and also too big for one sitting. Little did I know the first course foie gras was merely an hors d oeuvre!
Fortunately for Honfleuran's and their many annual tourists, this town, less than 20 miles from the largely destroyed port of La Havre was not bombed during WWII. Home of Europe's oldest half timbered, 13th century St Catherine's Cathedral, Honfleur offered complete Old World charm, architecture, fine cuisine, world renown cidre, caramel, chocolate, , bread, well, you get the point. With the welcome of Rotary, strangers quickly became friends, and goodwill built better bridges for sustaining peace.
Travel is a wonderful route to discover the "International" in Rotary. Keep a banner or two in your suitcase.
