Piner High Seniors Take a Bite  of Economic Reality

Over 400 Piner High School seniors prepare to go to the tables of economic reality and learn advertising ploys, pitfalls of impulse buying and the value of budgeting to navigate the financial minefields of adult life.
Sunriser Bonny Landers, veteran of "Bite of Reality" sessions readies her Entertainment table where she will promote travel and discretionary liesure spending.   Both she and spouse David O Rear joined Rich Randolph on his first session.
David and Rich took on the role of auto salesmen:  Eight choices ranging from an $80 bus pass to $1000 per month luxury Lamborghini presented a wide range of choices to the students.  David offered a BOGO promo and discounts for great credit scores.  Both David and Rich had students return with buyers remorse and trade down in order to stay within their shrinking budget.
Students learn the crunch of time, moving on to their next spending choice.
Many  people make the Bite of Reality experience possible.  Redwood Credit Union spearheads the Somona County initiative.  Half of these pictured are RCU staff.  More volunteers are needed!  If you are  interested, contact Bonny, Rich or Matthew Kanzler with Redwood Credit Union  MKanzler@redwoodcu.org.  Coming sessions  next week are Tuesday at Ridgeway High  10 AM to 12:15 PM and  Thursday at Montgomery High 8:15 AM to 10:45 AM.
