Off to see the Wizard

Characters from Oz visit Rotary

Sunrise Rotarians were treated to a preview of "Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz," an interactive Children's Theater play that opens Friday, March 1, and runs for two weekends at the Steele Lane Community Center.  Adult cast members, who play familiar roles in this adaptation of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," include:  (Left to right, above) Scarecrow Thea Rhiannon, free lance business writer and actor; Tin Man Steve Zahniser, Esq., local attorney, actor and chorale singer; and Wicked Witch of the West Dicksie Tamanaha, Sunriser.  Youth, teens and pre-teens also play major and supporting roles.

Director Michael Welch (picture above) invited Sunrise Rotarians to bring their children and grandchildren or to channel their inner child and attend performances on Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons during the first two weekends in March.  For further information go to https://www.santarosatheaterforchildren.com.
