After a 7.5 year incubation, our Global Grant application submission is announced by Sabalos Nicaragua Mission Director John Jones. Gaining the confidence and support of International Partner Managua-Tiscapa Rotary, Sunrise' Grant Team leader Peter Hoberg completed assembling all the ancillary documents required by Rotary International to begin their review and hopefully timely approval of this multi-club, many years in the making $200,000 project to equip the recently completed Surgical Center in Sabalos, Rio San Juan region of Nicaragua. Stay tuned for weekly updates.

Jason Weiss provided an informative history and outlook for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Sonoma County. Over the last 10 years the chapter has grown from serving 300 to 3,000 students. Consolidation of three clubs increased efficiency and creativity and now the organization employees 250 staff and manages a $10 million budget on 29 sites. Expansion into summer school extends to benefits of stronger academic success. Today the BGCCSC is ranked in the top 10% of clubs in the United States. Serving students between 6 and 18 years of age, this chapter currently heads TLP, Tomorrows Leader Today, the high school corollary of Leadership Santa Rosa.
