County Assessor, Clerk-Registrar of Voters Wm. Bill Rosseau provided a overview of the challenges his office and staff met following our October 2017 wild fires.  5,300 structures, mostly homes were destroyed or sustained greater than 10% structural damage.  All those properties had to have adjusted tax notices.  Napa County had approximately 600 properties affected by comparison.  Sonoma County allowed residents to proceed with tax adjustments without a lengthy form process.
Sunrise member Leroy Carlenzoli, who lost his home in the fire praised the Assessor's Office for their efficiency and support during his recovery period.
Erick Roeser, County Tax Collector followed Assessor Rouseau and both stayed after the meeting to answer questions.
