School for autistic children is Sunrise Bulletin Sponsor
Secretary Peter Hoberg introduced Sunrisers to the current Bulletin Sponsor -- Anova Center for Education located at Luther Burbank Center. Specializing in meeting the needs of children with autism and other conditions such as aspbergers, grades K to 12, Anova in Santa Rosa is one of only two such schools in the nation. The other is located in South Carolina.
Recently destroyed by the Tubbs Fire, Anova Santa Rosa is fundraising to rebuild facilities. Currently some form of autism affects one in 42 male children.
