Interactor Interacts!!

Above, Elsie Allen High School Junior and Interactor Blanca was one of the first on site at Lewis School last Saturday to lend her energy in a front yard makeover.  Bearing 40F frosty air, she shared her interest in biology and land stewardship, including careful handling of a slender salamander shown below.

Flanking Blanca was Sunriser and Interact Advisor Merle Hayes.  Merle's roots in education go deep in Sonoma County:  Her dad was Principal at Healdsburg High School and her grandsons, Interactors at Elsie Allen.

Blanca cradles a tiny slender salamander safely placing it away from human traffic.

The gardening activity succeeded in bringing a new home to over 30 mature  plants recovered from another location.  Coordinated by CHArt Community Horticulture Art volunteer Curtis Short, the activity brought together around 20 volunteers representing 3 generations desiring to grow sustainably green.

The morning also afforded an opportunity for everyone to network ~ a function well developed by fungi~ and exchange ideas.  Careers came up and Blanca's interest in pharmacology reminded a Rotarian of Elsie Allen's hosting of this year's city-wide Career Conference April 27.
