Sunrise Supports Elsie Allen Foundation Fiesta
Ross Andress and Stacey Drucker-Andress headed the Sunrise guest delegation attending Elsie Allen High School Foundation's Fiesta at the Friedman Center March 10. Rounding out the table were Sunrise President Doug Shureen and wife Barbara, Past President Merle Hayes, Rob Sanville, President Elect Rich Randolph and spouse Betsy and best friends of Ross and Stacey, Terry and Stephanie. 300 guests filled the center. Above, Past President Harry Coffey stands and chats with Doug and Merle.
The evening's announcements included the retirement of school Principal Mary Gail Stablein and Foundation Chair Willie Tamayo. Ross and Stacey serve as charter Community members on the Foundation Board and are well versed on the Foundations history. As student alumni were introduced, Ross would inform our table of the student's accomplishments, as Ross and Stacey are also charter advisors to the school's Interact Club.
Proceeds of the Fiesta auction fund teacher grants and student scholarships for academic and Career-Technical studies. Bidding was spirited on packages including dinner for 35 at Balletto Vineyards, Agave Restaurant, Sports tickets to Giants, Warriors, 49'r and Raider games, Staycation in Sonoma County or a Wild Boar Hunt. Guess who leads that hunt? None other than Sunrise Rotarian John Jones and his son Chris, attending as sponsors from Linkenheimer, John's CPA firm. Chris also is a member of the Foundation.
Proceeds from the auction will be close to $200,000. Last year Sunrise Rotary allocated $5,000 to the Foundation.
Sunrise Rotary's Fundraiser, "Puttin' on the Ritz" is your upcoming chance to be part of the Club's community outreach. Hope to see you April 14th!
