Assembly Affirms Fines, Recognitions

Robust discussion routed out a fine gamut of opinions over the Club's proposed dues increase.

Dave Lorenzen Recognized for his birthdays:  Biological ?? and Rotary~ 31 years in Sunrise.

Max Bridges garners age-related Recognition for spouse Dee Dee.

While no opposition was voiced over the proposed $50 annual increase in dues, considerable time was taken to air points of view over whether to include the $75 annual fine/recognition obligation in the increase.  Having been mailed the proposed change 30 days in advance of the vote, members had sufficient time to consider the measures.  In the ensuing discussion, the importance of weekly recognitions from the President or other members (including one Past President's "snitch-group") became a clear priority.  The value of hearing first-hand of travels, promotions, hubris or humility in building identity and friendship was affirmed.  In fact, multiple volunteers came forward to lead the charges for incoming President Doug.  Sunrisers, get ready to be Recognized!!

Members appear a bit fuzzy, and that may be their vintage:  Charter Members with 31 years Kent Seegmiller, Warren Smith,  Dave Lorenzen and Peter Treleaven surround Carolyn Anderson with 17 Rotary years and Jack Strange with 6.

For the next year, and likely through 2019, dues with be $250, payable in full in July, or semi-annually in July and January.  Recognition minimum remains $75, principally for birthdays $20 and anniversaries when applicable at $1/year.  High $5's always welcome!

Max Childs accepts accolades for his and wife Venus' anniversary that day.

Clarification was made in the term "mail delivery" of notices to include via email.  The Club also voted 11/18 against a joint three District Conference in Reno for 2019.
