Bay on the Bay
Golden Gate Ahoy!!

Four Sunriser's along with a spouse and brother enjoyed a fabulous sailing excursion on San Francisco Bay Sunday. The adventure was made possible by Elsie Allen High School Physics Teacher Doug Gibson and his sleek 30 foot sloop "Sail Fish". Doug generously shard the helm with Sunriser's Penny Millar, Paul O Rear and Dee Dee Bridges. Rich Randolph preferred shutter-bugging to steering and Penny's brother Glenn revelled in all the open water (he is relocating from Omaha).

Doug demonstrated his versatility not only at the wheel, but also in the galley: After a short cruise from Richmond to Ayala Cove on Angel Island, Doug gave the crew liberty while he prepared a **** grilled salmon lunch. Following chow-time, we set course through Raccoon Strait into the larger bay, with fabulous Golden Gate Bridge and Palace of Legion of Honor views, then around Alcatraz and back into Richmond Marina. A harbor porpoise, cormorant and more than a few gulls completed the wildlife visits. The six satisfied sailors will likely collaborate on this adventure at the Club's upcoming Culinary Classic November

Dee Dee Bridges attentively steers toward Angel Island. (The bottle is another passenger's)

Paul O'Rear kept the boat aright.
In his valuable, rare discretionary time, Doug is the enthusiastic Faculty Advisor to Elsie Allen's Interact Club. Thank You, Thank You Doug!!!
