An Evening In The Garden

Successful bidders at last fall’s Culinary Classic Fund Raiser of the “Summer Garden Party” arrived at the home of Dave and Shauna Lorenzen during one of the hottest days of the year for a “Hot Summer Night” formal Garden Dinner;

Hosted by Steve and Kathleen Amend, Jim and Melinda Moir, Frank and Carol Cercone, Dave And Shauna Lorenzen and Jennifer Adams, guests were greeted with ice cold Champagne or cool Mint Lemonade.

Hors d’oeurves included Ceviche Shooters, Spicy Shrimp and Guacamole Scoops, Cool Cucumber and Dill and Chilled Melon and Prosciutto.

Guests toured the gardens, played Bocce and Huge Chess before seating for the main courses;

Starting with a Watermelon / Onion / Berry Salad with Raspberry Essence Dressing, before a buffet including Cold Poached Salmon and Dill, Rubbed and Grilled Baby Back Ribs, Stuffed Portabello Mushrooms, Grilled Asparagus, Roasted Potatoes, Rice “Surprise”, and Garden Salads. And lots and lots of wine.

As the afternoon eased into a much more comfortable evening, guests enjoyed a refreshing Strawberry Shortcake Bar with Kenwood strawberry’s, Chocolate Chocolate Brownies, Fresh Garden Shortcakes, Ice Cream, chocolate chips and syrups and whipped cream.

Guests lingered into the evening as the stars came out, and the Gardens illuminated with soft lights, glowing orbs and green fireflies……………..

Not a bad way to spend an afternoon in the Garden! And Supporting Rotary!
