Flambeaux Wines

Originally from New Orleans and a graduate of the University of New Orleans and Tulane University Law School, Art Murray is the Co-Owner of Flambeaux Wine in Healdsburg. When not involved with winery operations, he finds himself busy with depositions and meditations as an environmental lawyer.

In 2014, it was serendipity, a family connection, and a wild dream to work in wine that led Art and his family to relocate from New Orleans to the rolling hillsides of Healdsburg and create Flambeaux Wine. The winery is a family affair with 3 generations involved – Pattie and Steve, who are Art’s parents, Art, and his wife Nicole, and their 4 daughters. As a small family-owned winery making less than 2,000 cases annually, Flambeaux Wine is committed to producing wines that are rooted in vineyard expression and which consistently garner awards at national wine competitions and critical acclaim from numerous wine writers.

Flambeaux are the torch bearers of Mardi Gras. Before there were streetlights, they provided the light to the Carnival and made sure the celebration could continue into the night. It is also symbolic for the Murray family and holding tradition - having 3 generations involved in the winery and passing the torch over time to continue the parade.
